Spain does not work like the UK, US or Australia
Depop lets you sell from Spain, but several support features and functions change depending on the country. For a Spanish seller, the current flow falls outside the UK, US and Australia: the official table keeps a 10 % selling fee, payment processing goes through PayPal and shipping is arranged with the carrier the seller chooses. That means you should not copy British or American tutorials as if they were Spanish instructions.
Barguvo treats the country as a product condition, not as a footnote. Before acting, check which payment, shipping and protection method your actual transaction shows. This guide prepares the sale; Depop keeps the execution within its platform.
Document the item before writing the listing
Start with what can be verified: brand, category, stated size, useful measurements, material when you can back it up, real colour, included accessories and condition. In second-hand, an excellent description does not make up for a listing that hides wear or blurs what is being delivered.
Photograph the actual item from several angles and add close-ups of labels, fastenings, soles, seams, areas of rubbing and any relevant defect. The Barguvo rule on AI editing remains locked: you may improve exposure or legibility, but never remove stains, scratches, deformations, labels, components or colour variations that change how the item is perceived.
Title and description: useful, specific and defensible
The title should help identify the item without turning into a cloud of keywords. In the body, prioritise information that reduces doubts: cut, real size versus label size where relevant, measurements, condition, defects, known composition and which accessories are included.
Avoid claims such as “guaranteed authentic”, “like new” or “unused” if the evidence does not support them. An old profile, a good rating or a visual match does not turn a claim into proof either. Describe what you know and separate out what you estimate.
Price: ASKING is not SOLD or a professional valuation
The published price is ASKING: what you are asking for. Do not present it as a sold price or as an objective value. You can review comparable listings and use a Barguvo estimate, but if there is no verifiable source of completed sales, do not reconstruct an imaginary SOLD history.
Set a starting price and a minimum before you receive offers. Then work out the effect of the fee, PayPal and shipping so you do not confuse the visible price with the seller’s net. The full table lives in the fees guide.
PayPal and getting paid from Spain
Depop’s current documentation places sellers outside the UK, US and Australia on processing via PayPal. The PayPal fee can vary depending on location and account settings, so Barguvo does not freeze a universal percentage or add it as if it were a fixed Depop fee.
Do not take the transaction outside the authorised flows to “save” a fee, and do not share unnecessary personal data. If a dispute relates to a purchase paid with PayPal, Depop’s own help pages refer you to PayPal’s Resolution Center.
Shipping from Spain: your own carrier and tracking
Outside the US or UK, Depop states that you can use your preferred shipping method. Calculate the cost from size, weight and destination, pack the item properly and use tracked shipping. Keep the receipt until delivery is resolved.
Add the tracking to the sales receipt and keep the buyer informed within Depop. For international shipments, check customs and IOSS where applicable; do not copy USPS or Evri labels from other markets.
The sale must stay inside Depop
Depop recommends selling directly through its app or website, being wary of external links and not providing personal information to complete a sale. Barguvo does not send messages, collect payments, publish or reserve on the user’s behalf either.
If something changes in the actual transaction, the screen and Depop’s current policy take precedence. The guides are a reference; the original marketplace is the one that executes the transaction.
Checklist before publishing
Check that the photos show the actual item and its defects; that the title matches the item; that the price is labelled as ASKING; that you know your minimum; that you have estimated the fee and PayPal separately; that shipping has tracking; and that no sentence promises territorial protection that Depop does not confirm for Spain.
When everything fits, Barguvo can help you review the consistency of the listing. The final publication is done on Depop.
