Quick answer: what Depop charges in Spain

The current official table places sellers outside the UK, US and Australia on a selling fee of 10 % on sales. For sellers outside those markets, payment processing is handled through PayPal and its cost may vary depending on location and account settings.

If you use Boosted Listings outside the UK and US, the current table shows a boosting fee of 8 % when the sale meets the Boost attribution rules. Do not turn that 8 % into an automatic cost on every listing: it only applies when it corresponds to a sale attributed to the boost.

What base the 10 % is calculated on

Depop states that the selling fee is calculated on the item price, excluding taxes, and also on the shipping cost when you do not use a Depop Shipping label. In Spain the seller normally arranges their own shipping, so shipping may form part of that base under the official rule.

This explains why two sales with the same item price can leave different net amounts if the shipping changes. Barguvo always separates item price, shipping, selling fee and processing so that the calculation can be audited.

PayPal: a real cost, but not a universal percentage

The official help does not set a single PayPal fee valid for all Spanish sellers. PayPal may vary by account, transaction and applicable conditions. That is why a responsible calculation uses the figure your PayPal shows, not a “magic” percentage copied from another country.

In a Barguvo estimate, the PayPal component must be marked as variable or as an input entered by the user. This avoids presenting an example as an official total fee.

Boosted Listings: 8 % outside the UK/US

The current table distinguishes the UK/US boost from the rest. For sellers outside the UK and US it lists 8 %. It is an additional cost tied to the Boosted Listings policy and to the attribution of the sale, not a discount on the ordinary fee.

Before boosting a listing, compare the expected margin with the potential cost. An increase in visibility does not prove that the sale is due to the boost, nor does it guarantee a better price.

A transparent example without inventing PayPal

Hypothetical example: item 50 €, shipping 5 €. If the applicable base is 55 €, Depop’s 10 % would be 5,50 €. PayPal processing is not filled in with an invented figure: it is added only when you know the real fee shown by PayPal. If a sale attributed to Boost meets the policy, the 8 % is calculated on the base defined by Depop and added as a separate cost.

The example helps you understand the structure, not to promise a net amount. Before accepting an offer, recalculate with the real amounts of that transaction.

Refunds and fee returns

The Resolution Centre help states that, when a seller resolves an issue by refunding within the Depop Payments flows, the selling fee may be returned automatically. Spain currently uses PayPal, so you must follow the specific PayPal flow and check which items are actually refunded.

Do not assume that a refund recovers all costs, or that PayPal replicates the Depop Payments rules.

What Barguvo should store as dynamic data

The 10 %, the 8 % and the country gate are P0 data: they are revalidated before publishing an update. Any promotional messaging must also be kept separate from the operational fee table. If a shop page says “no fees” but the Help table assigns 10 % to Spain, the official table governs the content.

The review date matters because eBay has acquired Depop, but the current help pages still state that Depop’s tools, policies, fees and payments remain separate for now.
