What selling a lot well means
The listing should allow someone else to understand what they are buying, what condition it is in and under what terms.
On todocoleccion, a published item is structured as a lot. That matters because a lot can be a single piece, a set, a partial collection or several units sold together. Before writing the title, it is worth deciding exactly what the unit of sale is. A photograph showing ten items should not suggest that all ten are included if the price covers only one.
The platform allows you to sell as a private individual or as a professional, and offers direct sale and auction. That choice is not merely cosmetic: it changes the buyer’s expectations, the pace of the transaction and, in certain cases, the rights that may exist against the seller. Barguvo should preserve that distinction from the start instead of inferring it from the number of ratings or the look of the profile.
The aim of this guide is to prepare a traceable listing. Identity, edition, condition, quantity, accessories, payment terms and shipping should be reconstructable afterwards. If a piece of information cannot be confirmed, it is marked as unknown; if there is evidence but it is not enough to reach a conclusion, the correct status is inconclusive. These are different situations.
Identify the item before giving it a commercial name
In collecting, a small variant can separate two completely different markets.
Start with the attributes that distinguish the piece: manufacturer or author, reference, publisher, year, edition, material, measurements, country, catalogue number, series, print run, stamp, mark or any identifier relevant to the category. For a coin, the mint and denomination may matter; for a book, edition and ISBN; for a toy, manufacturer and reference; for art, technique and measurements.
Do not turn a hypothesis into an identity. If the seller believes a piece is from a specific period but it has no mark, documentation or sufficient basis, the wording should preserve the uncertainty. “Attributed to”, “according to the documentation provided” or “no visible mark” can be more useful than a categorical statement that later turns out to be false.
Provenance also needs labels. Declared means someone states it; observable, that it can be seen directly; provided, that documentation or an image exists; confirmed, that the appropriate check supports the information. A provenance story can be valuable without thereby becoming authentication.
Direct sale or auction: decide based on uncertainty and demand
An auction is not automatically better for rare items, nor is a direct sale better for common ones.
A direct sale works well when there is a reasonable market reference, you know what amount you would accept and you prefer to control the asking price. An auction can make sense when there is competitive demand and enough uncertainty about the final price, but it also introduces the risk that interest will be lower than expected. The dedicated auctions guide holds the details of Puja Máxima (maximum bid) and the three-minute rule.
Before choosing a format, look at comparable sales where they exist. Orientaprecios is especially useful for spotting similar historical transactions, but a similar sold item is not automatically equivalent. The same edition in excellent condition and with its box may belong to a different range from an incomplete or restored unit.
The Barguvo approach does not try to guess which format “earns more”, but sets out scenarios: minimum acceptable price, expected speed, spread of comparables, rarity of the variant and total cost for the parties. The final decision and the publication still take place on todocoleccion.
The decision is explained; Barguvo does not carry out actions within todocoleccion.
Title, category and description: precision before keywords
The right category and the relevant attributes help more than repeating search terms.
The title should identify the item in a recognisable way and leave nuances to the description. Repeating synonyms, superlatives or the names of unrelated brands can create noise and mistaken expectations. The description should explain what the lot includes, what it does not include, how it has been checked, what defects it has and which measurements or references help with comparison.
The category is not just a place to “put” the listing. In a collectibles catalogue it can determine which buyers find the piece and which comparables seem relevant. If you are torn between two sections, prioritise the one that matches the item’s real identity, not the one that seems to have higher prices.
If the lot has restorations, repairs, missing parts, reproductions, replaced parts or relevant wear, these should be described visibly. The aim is not to write an endless disclaimer, but to reduce the gap between what the buyer imagines and what they will actually receive.
Photographs that document condition, marks and scale
Improving presentation must never erase the physical evidence of the item.
Use an overall view and then close-ups of marks, labels, signatures, numbering, edges, the back, fastenings and defects. For three-dimensional items, several angles help avoid blind spots. A ruler or scale reference can be useful when the measurements are not easy to understand from text alone.
The Barguvo contract allows improving framing, exposure or visual cleanliness as long as it does not change the apparent condition, real colour, geometry, wear, components or defects. On a collector’s piece, removing a stain, filling in a loss or digitally “straightening” a corner can alter precisely the information that determines value.
Contextual photography must be kept separate from what is included in the lot. If you place decorative accessories to improve the composition, the description must make clear that they are not part of the sale. The hero image should represent the lot, not build a scene that artificially inflates its apparent contents.
Costs and seller plan before setting a price
The published price is not the same as the money left after costs.
Todocoleccion currently publishes an “A comisión” (commission-based) plan with tiers and a Tienda (shop) plan with a monthly fee and a percentage on sales. Those figures are dynamic and the fees page owns the details. Before publishing, calculate the net amount with your account’s actual plan, the IVA applicable to the fees and any additional service you have taken on.
Do not confuse the buyer’s Pago tc Guarantee with a general seller fee. Pago tc is an optional service and its current cost for the buyer is calculated on the transaction total, including handling and shipping; the seller should not automatically deduct that 5% from their price as if it were their ordinary fee.
If a piece requires special packaging, additional insurance or expensive transport, build it into the financial scenario before choosing a price. An apparent margin can disappear once a reinforced box, protective material, insurance and logistics are added.
Payment and shipping: set the terms before receiving the order
Clarity upfront avoids negotiating logistics once the transaction is already under way.
Envíos tc integrates logistics options for sellers, but todocoleccion makes clear that transport is provided by a third party and that this does not make the platform a carrier. The seller remains responsible for preparing and managing the specific shipment within the applicable conditions.
If you are going to use Pago tc, check the service’s current requirements and the shipping method. The current terms require registered shipping in the relevant context. Do not publish a fixed table of carriers or rates: weight, destination, operator and available services can change.
Describe whether you combine lots, how you calculate handling, which destinations you accept and what tracking the parcel will have. If you do not yet know an international cost, it is better to say it will be calculated according to destination than to invent a figure you cannot honour later.
Safety and evidence without turning the profile into a guarantee
Ratings and account age help provide context, but they do not authenticate the item.
Keep material agreements in the platform’s messaging or flow when possible: which lot is being bought, declared condition, shipping, changes to terms and any incident. You do not need to store full conversations in Barguvo; it is enough to keep the elements needed to explain a decision or a claim.
A seller with many ratings may reduce certain operational uncertainties, but that does not in itself prove that a specific piece is authentic. Likewise, a low price or a photograph similar to another listing are signals that deserve review, not automatic proof of fraud.
For high-value items, document the condition before packing, protect unnecessary personal identifiers and keep the tracking. Useful evidence is minimal and specific: photographs of the item, of the packaging when it adds context and relevant documentation, not an indiscriminate archive of personal data.
Checklist before publishing
A two-minute review avoids contradictions that are hard to correct later.
Check that the title, category, description and photographs tell the same story. Verify units, measurements, reference, condition, included parts and exclusions. If the title says “complete” but a photo shows a known missing part, correct the claim before publishing.
Review price and costs separately: indicative value, asking amount, fee, shipping and optional services. Also confirm whether the selected format is direct sale or auction and whether any added commercial option has a specific cost or condition.
Finally, imagine the transaction ends in a dispute. Could you prove what was offered and in what condition? If the answer depends on a verbal explanation that does not appear in the listing, information is missing. If the listing and a little evidence are enough, the lot is ready to move into the official flow.
What to check on publishing day
Operational rules change; the principle of transparency must survive those changes.
todocoleccion’s help pages, its fees, the terms of service and the Pago tc terms are the priority sources for operational rules. A Barguvo guide should not keep percentages, deadlines or service availability just because they were correct at an earlier checkpoint.
When a figure changes, update the figure and the date, not the principle. The need to distinguish asking price from sold price, private from professional, reputation from authenticity and platform service from carrier responsibility will remain valid.

FAQ
Can I sell as a private individual?
The current help covers both private individuals and professionals. You must declare your status correctly and not assume that both regimes have the same obligations.
Is an auction or a fixed price better?
It depends on demand, uncertainty about value and your goal. An auction does not guarantee a higher price.
Is Pago tc mandatory?
No. The current terms describe it as optional for both buyer and seller.
Does a positive rating authenticate the lot?
No. It is a signal about the experience with the user, not an authentication of the specific piece.
Can I use Orientaprecios to set a price?
Yes, as evidence of comparable sales, filtering by edition, condition, date, quantity and other attributes. It is not a guarantee of future price.
Does Barguvo publish the lot?
No. Barguvo prepares and explains the decision; the final publication takes place on todocoleccion.
Operational information revalidated on 25/08/2026. Fees, deadlines, services, operators and conditions are dynamic; todocoleccion’s help, terms and specific flow take precedence.
