Auctions and bidding on todocoleccion: Puja Máxima, the 3-minute rule and a rational maximum

How todocoleccion auctions work: Puja Máxima (maximum bid), the 3-minute extension, bidding limits and calculating a total maximum without sniping.

In one sentence

Set your maximum before competing. The platform’s own Puja Máxima automates increments up to your limit; Barguvo does not snipe or send bids.

A

The core mechanism: Puja Máxima

The maximum you enter is not necessarily the price you will pay.

Todocoleccion documents a Puja Máxima (maximum bid) system. The user enters the maximum amount they are willing to pay and the platform itself automatically raises the bid when necessary, up to that limit. If the price can stay below the maximum, the system does not need to jump straight to the full amount.

This automation belongs to todocoleccion. Barguvo must not connect to bid, chase increments or react in real time. Its role comes earlier: helping to build a justifiable maximum with comparables, condition, costs and risk tolerance.

The maximum should be defined in the total euros you are willing to take on, not as an emotional response to the current bid. An auction easily turns small differences into a step-by-step escalation; writing down the limit before you start reduces that bias.

B

The 3-minute rule: the close can be extended

Bidding in the last second does not automatically block others from responding.

The current help states that the auction ends at its scheduled time provided there is no bid in the last three minutes. If a bid arrives within that interval, the close is extended by three minutes from the last bid; the extension repeats if new bids keep coming in.

This means a last-second “sniping” strategy does not make the same sense as on platforms with a fixed close. The guide should explain the mechanism and favour a rational maximum, not teach techniques for exploiting timers.

This is P0 data and was revalidated on 25/08/2026. If todocoleccion changes the interval or the policy, the timeline and the date are updated. “3 minutes” is not kept out of tradition.

T − 3:00

The documented critical window begins.

T − 0:40

A new bid comes in.

+ 3:00

The close moves to three minutes after that last bid.

Repeat

A new bid within the interval extends the close again.

C

Build a rational maximum with total cost

The hammer price is not always the full financial cost.

Start from a value band based on comparable sold items and adjust for identity, edition, condition, completeness and recency. Then subtract a reserve for uncertainty: the less comparable the sample, the less aggressive the limit should be. A rare piece may justify more research, not automatically a bigger budget.

Add the costs you will actually bear: shipping, handling and, if you choose Pago tc, the cost the platform shows in the transaction. If your total financial maximum is 120 € and you expect 15 € of additional costs, your bidding limit cannot remain 120 € without exceeding the budget.

Barguvo can show several scenarios —conservative, central and ambitious— but it must make clear which assumptions produce each one. A “recommended maximum 93 €” without explaining comparables and costs would be false precision.

Barguvo can organise comparables, costs and limits without placing any bid.

The decision is explained; Barguvo does not carry out actions within todocoleccion.

D

Orientaprecios as a starting point, not an oracle

A past sale provides evidence; it does not automatically predict the next one.

Look for the same object or the closest variant and separate the results by edition, year, manufacturer, dimensions, quantity and condition. If the highest sales correspond to units with the original box and the current auction does not have it, do not use those figures without adjustment.

Prioritise the median and range over a single extreme figure. A single lot sold for an exceptional amount may reflect preservation, provenance, misclassification or simply an atypical bid. Before raising your maximum, identify which characteristic explains the outlier.

The date also matters. In categories with a changing market, a sale from fifteen years ago may be less useful than five recent sales. In other very rare categories, old history may be the only evidence available and should increase the uncertainty, not disappear from the analysis.

E

Daily limits and account status

The current help states that the limit may vary according to history.

Todocoleccion states that the maximum number of daily bids varies according to the history of ratings and purchase commitments, and that a new user currently starts with a maximum of five bids per day. This figure is changing and should not be turned into a permanent promise.

Do not design a strategy that depends on exhausting the limit or creating alternative accounts. The limit is a platform condition, not an obstacle Barguvo should get around. If the account shows a different value, that specific value prevails.

For someone following several pieces, the best approach is not to increase the number of bids, but to prioritise: which lots are genuinely comparable, which have sufficient evidence and which fit within the total budget for the period.

F

When auctioning can make sense as a seller

An auction works best when there is real competition, not just claimed rarity.

A seller may consider an auction when the object has observable demand, the price is uncertain and there are enough potential buyers. For a very specialised item with little liquidity, an auction may close below an optimistic expectation even if the piece is rare.

A direct sale offers more control over the asking price and allows you to wait, while an auction introduces a closing horizon. The decision should take into account urgency, the spread of comparables, recent interest and the risk of an insufficient audience.

Before auctioning, make sure the listing allows the piece to be valued. If the best evidence —brand, defect, reverse, reference— is not visible, rational bidders may discount for uncertainty and the result may not reflect the potential of the correctly described object.

G

Avoid emotional escalation

“Just 2 € more” repeated many times breaks any budget.

Competition introduces biases: loss aversion, sunk cost and the desire to “beat” the other bidder. The object does not get better because someone else bids. If your comparables and costs have not changed, your maximum should not magically change either.

Set a hard stop in advance. When the bidding exceeds that limit, the right decision is to withdraw even if there are only seconds left or another three-minute extension appears. An exception would only make sense if new objective evidence appears that changes the valuation, not because you have already invested time following the auction.

Barguvo can remind you of the range and total cost, but it must not send alerts designed to push you to keep bidding. The design should reduce pressure, not gamify it.

H

Condition, authenticity and reputation remain separate problems

Winning the bid does not confirm that the lot is what it appears to be.

Before bidding, review the description, photos, condition, questions and provenance. A profile with good ratings can be a signal about the seller’s behaviour, but it does not authenticate a specific coin, watch, artwork, toy or document.

An extremely cheap lot may also simply be an early-stage auction. The current price is not sufficient evidence of fraud or of an exceptional opportunity. Assess identity and conditions before interpreting the amount.

If authenticity is critical, refer to the appropriate methodology or vertical guide and keep the uncertainty. The auctions page should not become a pseudo-certification of collectibles.

I

After winning: do not lose traceability

The auction result opens the payment and shipping stage; it does not replace it.

Keep the lot identifier, final amount, date and relevant conditions. Review the total cost before paying and use the agreed flow. If you choose Pago tc, the rules on disputes and release of funds belong to that service and are explained in the returns/claims guide.

During shipping, tracking and evidence of condition become important. If the object arrives damaged or does not match, act within the applicable windows; do not wait days trying to resolve it informally if that may use up a platform deadline.

For future analysis, the final amount can become a new sold comparable if the source and context allow it to be treated as such. But do not mix your original budget with the final price or present it as the object’s “true value”.

What must be revalidated before using the guide

Mechanics, limits and associated services may change.

Puja Máxima, the three-minute rule and the daily limit were checked against the official help on 25/08/2026. Pago tc, shipping and fees have their own sources and should be reviewed if they affect the maximum for a specific transaction.

If an old screenshot or a community comment contradicts the current help, use it only as a signal to investigate. The operational rule is taken from the official source and, where possible, from the specific flow shown to the user.

This HTML is a standalone reference with noindex, nofollow. Before production it must repeat QA, freshness and cannibalisation checks with ORIENTAPRECIOS and FEES.

FAQ

What is Puja Máxima?

It is the maximum you enter; the platform itself can automatically raise your bid up to that limit according to its system.

Does the auction end exactly at the scheduled time?

Not always. The current help documents 3-minute extensions when bids come in during the last 3 minutes.

Can Barguvo bid for me?

No. Barguvo does not send bids, does not snipe and does not host the auction.

How many bids can I make per day?

The help says the limit varies according to history and that a new user currently starts with 5; confirm your account’s limit.

Does a high sale in Orientaprecios set my maximum?

No. You must check the comparable’s identity, edition, condition, date and context.

Should I include shipping in my maximum?

Yes, in your total financial budget. The bidding limit and the total cost are not always the same number.
