How to sell a motorbike on Motos.net from Spain: listing, limits, photos and price

Listing well is not just about filling in fields: you have to respect limits that Motos.net documents separately, represent the real motorbike and keep price, photos and contact within their own type of evidence.

Barguvo rule: a listing, a valuation or a conversation on the platform does not by itself certify the real condition of the motorbike, nor does it turn an estimate into a completed sale.

What selling a motorbike on Motos.net as a private seller means

Motos.net maintains a specific flow for private sellers selling second-hand motorbikes. The selling page clearly separates two paths: publishing a listing to contact private buyers, or using the direct-sale service to a dealer. This guide covers only the first path. The aim is to prepare a faithful listing, understand the current rules and reach the conversation with consistent information.

The free private-seller mode should not be confused with a professional account. Motos.net's help centre states that anyone who has a dealership or wants to list more than two motorbikes a year needs a professional account. That rule describes the professional advertiser; it does not mean that a person selling a single used motorbike to another private individual becomes a professional just by using the platform.

Barguvo can help you organise price, photographs, evidence and checklist, but it does not post the listing or act as the seller. Listing, contact with interested buyers and any sale stay on Motos.net and the relevant official services.

Three listing rules that should not be mixed up

Current sources publish three limits that coexist and cannot be turned into an invented formula. The terms of use reserve the free mode for private sellers and refer to two free listings, or two listings per user. A specific help article says a private seller can publish 2 motorbike listings every 60 days. Another help article states that a listing stays active for 120 days and may receive a renewal notice.

2 listings

Limit of the free private-seller mode according to the terms.

2 every 60 days

Listing frequency stated by the specific help article.

120 days

Active duration stated by another specific help article.

The correct conclusion is not “I can have four free listings every 120 days”. Motos.net does not publish that equivalence. Barguvo keeps each restriction separate and recommends respecting the limit your account shows live when those rules apply together. In particular, we do not infer a simultaneous capacity of more than two free listings.

This separation matters so that a timing coincidence is not turned into a right to list. If the portal changes any of the three rules, the guide should be updated from the source that specifically governs that action.

Spanish registration: the specific help article governs the operational guidance

The help article dedicated to the question of foreign registration currently says that on Motos.net it is only possible to sell vehicles registered in Spain. The general terms keep broader wording that mentions permits for use on Spanish territory when there is no Spanish registration. The documentation is not perfectly aligned.

For an operational listing instruction, this guide follows the specific help article because it directly answers the eligibility question. We therefore do not promise that a motorbike with foreign registration can be listed. If your case falls outside the general rule, check the answer Motos.net gives at that moment before preparing the listing.

We should not turn this documentary discrepancy into legal advice on registration. Barguvo simply records which source governs the listing flow and avoids promising an exception that the specific help article does not recognise.

Which vehicles the portal accepts and why choosing the right category matters

The current help centre describes Motos.net as a portal specialising in motorbikes and accepts motorbikes, classic and competition bikes, quads and ATVs, buggies and minibikes. Choosing the correct category helps the listing appear within the inventory the buyer expects to find and avoids using a motorbike listing for a product the portal directs to another service.

The category does not replace the specific details. Make, model, mileage, colour, price and additional information must match the unit being listed. A modified motorbike should be described based on what it actually has fitted and what is handed over, without turning a generic category into a claim about type approval, condition or authenticity.

Title, description and details: reduce doubts without hiding facts

Motos.net recommends a clear, specific title in lower case. The kilometres, colour, price, model and additional information fields should be filled in consistently with the vehicle. Contact details have their own fields, so they should not be repeated within the description.

A useful description anticipates the questions a person will ask when seeing the motorbike: documented maintenance, recent consumables, visible defects, included accessories, original parts kept, relevant use and reason for selling if it adds context. “Perfect” or “like new” are weak phrases if there are signs of wear. It is better to describe observable facts: a mark on the tank, a recently changed tyre, a service with an invoice or an included pannier.

Avoid using the description as a showcase for multiple units. Each listing should represent one specific motorbike. It is also worth updating it if the mileage changes, you remove an accessory or new damage appears while it is still listed.

Faithful photographs: present better without altering the motorbike

The current terms require images to correspond to the listed vehicle and restrict elements such as people, phone numbers or watermarks from other portals. Beyond the platform rule, a good set of photographs should make it possible to recognise the unit and its condition: general views, sides, front and rear, frame, tyres, drivetrain when relevant, accessories and defects that may affect the decision.

AI photography invariant

AI can improve presentation, framing or visual cleanliness, but must never erase scratches, change the real colour, reconstruct parts, hide wear, or modify geometry, labels, number plate, components or accessories. “Improve the photo without falsifying the product”.

If you physically clean the motorbike before photographing it, that is real preparation. If you edit an image so that a dent disappears, you are creating a representation that no longer matches the unit. The same boundary applies to generated backgrounds: they must not hide shadows or parts in a way that changes the perception of condition.

Listing price: comparables are ASKING, not completed sales

To set the price you can review comparable listings by model, year, mileage, version, extras and apparent condition. Those values are prices asked by other sellers: ASKING. They do not prove that those motorbikes were sold, nor at what price a negotiation ended.

ASKINGListed price.
ESTIMATECalculated estimate.
PROFESSIONAL OFFEROffer from a professional.
SOLDCompleted sale with evidence.

A reasonable price combines listing context with the specific condition of your motorbike and your strategy. If a comparable unit has fewer kilometres, better documented maintenance or valuable accessories, copying its ASKING does not automatically produce a fair price for yours. Barguvo can help you organise the comparison, but it will not invent a sold-price base where only listings exist.

Venta Rápida, Anuncio Top, Urge and Primeras páginas: visibility, not a guarantee

The help article revalidated on 26/08/2026 keeps four products for private sellers. They are commercial visibility options, not a promise of a sale, final price or timeframe.

ProductCurrent priceWhat it does according to Motos.net
Venta Rápida12,95 €Bumps the listing 2 times a day for 10 days.
Anuncio Top12,95 €Shares the top five positions for 30 days.
Urge9,95 €Adds the “URGE” label.
Primeras páginas3,95 €Bumps the listing 2 times a day for 3 days.

Before paying, consider what problem you are trying to solve. If reliable photos are missing, the description is ambiguous or the price is out of line, buying visibility can amplify a weak listing. If the listing is already solid, promotion can increase exposure, but R95 does not attribute a conversion rate or a guaranteed return to it.

These rates are dynamic P0 data. If Motos.net changes them, they must be replaced with the current information, not perpetuated because they were written down in a checkpoint.

When contacts arrive: negotiate without skipping the safety signals

A useful conversation confirms what has been understood from the listing and allows you to agree on a viewing or next steps. Keep what you listed and what you explain by message consistent. If an interested party asks you to pay money upfront, sends a supposed Motos.net email with bank instructions or asks for personal documents in an odd way, leave the normal negotiation and apply the SCAMS/SAFETY guide.

Do not confuse interest with commitment. An offer by message remains a proposal until both parties agree on terms and the transaction is documented. Nor does the listed price become SOLD because you receive an offer.

MOTO-CHECK remains the owner of inspection, history and paperwork

This guide does not duplicate how to check the VIN/frame number, DGT, ITV, mileage, liens, drivetrain, brakes, tyres, suspension, leaks, signs of a fall or a test ride. All of that belongs to MOTO-CHECK. You can describe those items in the listing, but the Motos.net text does not certify them.

The seller can also benefit from MOTO-CHECK before listing: spotting a doubtful detail allows you to correct the description or provide documentation instead of discovering the problem during the viewing. For the buyer, a well-presented listing never replaces independent verification of the real motorbike.

Final checklist before listing

  • Confirm you are using the private-seller mode that applies to your case.
  • Check the live listing limit without reinterpreting 2/60d/120d.
  • Check the registration and listing eligibility.
  • Make, model, km, colour and price match the unit.
  • The photos are your own/authorised and show relevant defects.
  • The description does not include contact details in the body.
  • The ASKING is compared with ASKING, not with supposed SOLD prices.
  • Paid visibility, if used, is decided after fixing the listing.
  • Keep SAFETY for contacts and MOTO-CHECK for vehicle evidence.

When the checklist is complete, the next step is to continue on Motos.net. Barguvo does not press “publish” for you or replace the platform's checks.

After listing: keep the listing aligned with the real motorbike

Listing does not freeze the motorbike in time. If you keep using it, the mileage may change; if you have a service done, replace tyres, remove an accessory or damage appears, the listing should be updated. A photo that is accurate on day one can become an incomplete representation weeks later. The quality of the listing depends on keeping the vehicle, text and images in sync.

Also record changes to the ASKING. If you lower the price, keep the date and the reason in your own log so you do not confuse a commercial strategy with a market signal. The messages you receive can provide qualitative learning: if several people ask about the same service, accessory or defect, useful information is probably missing from the listing. That observation is evidence of your process, not a Motos.net statistic.

Visibility products should not be judged by impressions alone either. If you buy one, note when it was activated and what kind of contacts appeared afterwards. A rise in enquiries does not by itself show that the product “works” for all motorbikes, but it lets you compare your own before and after without inventing conversion rates.

When the motorbike is no longer available, update or remove the listing using the portal's options. Keeping a sold unit as if it were still available harms buyers and distorts your own conversations. Keep the contract, receipts and relevant documentation of the transaction outside the listing. Barguvo can help you organise the closing, but it does not replace the original documents or official procedures.

If Motos.net changes a rule while your listing is still active, check the condition in force before renewing, relisting or buying visibility. The fact that an old listing was accepted does not guarantee that a new listing will follow exactly the same rules. The freshness of the listing and the freshness of the policy are different checks.

Can I list a motorbike with foreign registration?

The current specific help article says that only vehicles registered in Spain can be sold. Although the terms contain different wording, R95 follows the specific help article for the operational flow.

How much does Venta Rápida cost?

The help article revalidated on 26/08/2026 shows 12,95 €, with two bumps a day for 10 days.

Does Anuncio Top guarantee selling the motorbike?

No. They are ASKING unless there is independent evidence of a completed transaction.

Does Motos.net mechanically check the motorbike because it is listed?

That should not be assumed. Inspection and history belong to MOTO-CHECK.
